After a joyous celebration of the seniors, Pepperdine’s Men’s Basketball Team struggled to gain ground and lost to Santa Clara, Feb. 24. The Waves reflect on a season of growing and leadership hoping to build on this season for next year.
During a hard-fought game against No.1 Gonzaga, Pepperdine’s Men’s Basketball Team fell behind and could not bridge the gap against the hotshot opponents, Feb. 16. The Waves hope to turn things around versus Portland on Feb. 19.
Men’s Basketball fought hard versus BYU but fell short with a score of 91-85. Freshman guard Houston Mallette had a career night with 31 points.
Men’s Basketball received their first conference win of the season after defeating Pacific on Feb. 5, the same team they played Feb. 3. Led by freshman forward Maxwell Lewis, the Waves held off the Tigers this time and snapped their nine game losing streak.
After a string of losses, Pepperdine’s Men’s Basketball Team hoped to secure a win against the Portland Pilots. The Waves were unable to gain headway and lost 82-63.
In their WCC home opener, Men’s Basketball lost 72-62 against the University of San Diego. The Waves lagged behind the Toreros for most of the game, and were unable to secure the points necessary to close the gap.
Men’s Basketball won their home opener Nov. 13 against Idaho State 65-60. The team looks to take advantage of a three game home stand in the early part of the season.
After a late 12-0 run from the Saint Mary’s Gaels, Pepperdine escaped a home contest on Saturday to make it three straight victories. It is the second time in Lorenzo Romar’s tenure where they have won three consecutive conference games.
Pepperdine Men’s Basketball responds to the Thursday loss to BYU by beating them in Firestone Fieldhouse as a result of late game heroics from Colbey Ross and Kessler Edwards. The Waves hand the Cougars their fourth loss and jump to third in West Coast Conference standings.
Pepperdine Men’s Basketball defeated Portland 80–65 in their first home game in 25 days. Kessler Edwards had a prolific night on both ends of the floor for the Waves.
