Pepperdine Women’s Tennis played for the national championship Saturday in Orlando, Fla., battling No. 2 Texas for three hours. The Waves gave the Longhorns a fight but eventually lost the doubles point and the match.
Pepperdine Women’s Tennis reached their eighth quarterfinal in program history this season. For the first time, the Waves won that quarterfinal match, beating UCLA 4-3 to move on to the NCAA semifinals.
The Waves are off to a good start in the spring season, going 4–0 in dual matches.
Pepperdine co-hosted a prestigious fall tennis tournament Thursday through Sunday, and Waves senior Ashley Lahey earned some major hardware.
