While Pepperdine has always lacked air conditioning in the residence halls, hotter temperatures are creating difficulties for students. While long-term solutions are timely and costly, there are still things that students can do to help beat the heat.
Songfest returned to campus April 1 for a recorded show in Elkins Auditorium, followed by free food at food trucks and student karaoke. Songfest has been a long-standing tradition for the Pepperdine community.
Songfest will continue this year as a virtual performance, with fewer weekly rehearsals spread out over eight weeks instead of two. Despite significant changes resulting from the virtual format, organizers and student leaders are hopeful they will develop a sense of community similar to the one found in person.
Step Team and the Great Books Colloquium form new Songfest groups that join the ranks of Eta Theta Tau, Alpha Omega and Company and reigning champion Gamma Ghkkkkket Sigma and Friends.
