The Housing Office Sent the following email around 7 p.m.:

Dear Residents,

Southern California Edison, our electricity provider, is on campus making repairs to fix the problem that caused the power outage earlier today.

In order to complete the necessary repairs, sometime between midnight and 5 a.m., the power will be shut down for 10 to 15 minutes.

In anticipation of this happening close to midnight, we will be shutting down the HAWC at 11:30 p.m.. Make sure you grab your late night munchies early!

Lastly, make sure that you have an alarm not plugged into the wall for morning classes.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your RA or RD.

A power outage began at approximately 4:03 p.m. causing around 170 Southern California Edison customers to lose power. Paul Klein, an Edison spokesman, told Jessica Davis of Malibu Patch that the affected areas are Banowsky Boulevard on Pepperdine’s campus, Huntington Circle to the north, Malibu Canyon Road to the east and Via Pacfica to the west.

All buildings on the Malibu campus were affected by the outage, including internet service.
