Pepperdine Women’s Tennis played for the national championship Saturday in Orlando, Fla., battling No. 2 Texas for three hours. The Waves gave the Longhorns a fight but eventually lost the doubles point and the match.
Pepperdine Women’s Tennis reached their eighth quarterfinal in program history this season. For the first time, the Waves won that quarterfinal match, beating UCLA 4-3 to move on to the NCAA semifinals.
The fourth-ranked Waves made quick work of Oklahoma State on a beautiful Malibu afternoon. Pepperdine won the doubles point and singles courts four, five and six en route to victory.
Waves Women’s Tennis played three top-six teams in the country at ITA Indoors, advancing to the semifinals. Despite being without No. 1 Ashley Lahey, newcomers stepped up for Pepperdine.
