For many students, Fraternity and Sorority Life represents a place of acceptance and community, but what do those values look like for LGBTQ+ students? Members of Pepperdine’s Greek life discuss their experiences.
Several Greek organizations, business and science fraternities have started their spring recruitment. Members said they are looking forward to welcoming new members that have not gotten the chance to rush yet.
Interfraternity Council officials said their organizations overcame unique challenges to deliver a surprisingly successful virtual spring recruitment. Through Instagram and Zoom, fraternities and sororities formed fellowship with their new members.
Greek life organizations at Pepperdine maintain a steady level of affiliation even as COVID-19 and the resulting online format alters the Recruitment process and membership experience. COVID-19 led to reduced dues across chapters and halted plans for a new fraternity on campus.
