Pepperdine Women’s Volleyball faced off with the University of San Francisco at Firestone Fieldhouse on Nov. 16.
This came as the second time the Waves played against the Dons. In the first matchup, the visiting Waves took the win in five sets.
This time, Pepperdine took a more dominant win, sweeping San Francisco 3-0.
Graduate outside hitter/opposite Birdie Hendrickson and senior outside hitter/opposite Grace Chillingworth led the Waves with 12 kills, according to Pepperdine Athletics.
Junior setter Rosemary Archer was responsible for 42 of the Waves’ 45 assists. Senior libero/defensive specialist Trinity Stanger recorded the other three assists, according to Pepperdine Athletics.
In the first set, Pepperdine was tied with the Dons as late as 18-18, but Pepperdine was able to clinch the set with a close score of 25-23.
The Waves won the second set by a more substantial margin of 25-19, and finished the game with a 25-18 win in the third set.
Pepperdine led the Dons in kills, 48-31, assists, 45-29 and blocks nine to eight, according to Pepperdine Athletics.
Pepperdine now moves to a 14-10 overall record and an 11-3 conference record.
The Waves will travel to Moraga, California, for their next match against Saint Mary’s College on Nov. 21 at University Credit Union Pavilion.
