Pepperdine libraries hosted Brenda Stevenson in a lecture for the Larry Donnell Kimmons Memorial Lecture Series in honor of Kimmons’ death. A Pepperdine Department of Public Safety officer shot Kimmons in 1969 and Pepperdine has hosted memorial events for the past five years.
President Jim Gash, Vice President for Student Affairs Connie Horton and Seaver Dean Michael Feltner answered Seaver community questions in a Zoom town hall Dec. 15. Administrators shared tentative plans for spring 2021 as well as provided information on housing, International Programs, the academic calendar and future university communication.
President Jim Gash shared the Presidential Action Advisory Team’s recommendations in an email for diversity and inclusion measures to be introduced at Pepperdine. The seven key areas include curriculum, hiring, diversity and inclusion education, environment and culture, a center for diversity, Presidential Speaker Series and assessment.

Pepperdine plans to build a new fitness center next to Seaside Residence Hall. While COVID-19 pushed back the original opening, administration continues with plans for the temporary site.
