Women's basketball team falls to Arkansas 64-39

December 7, 2012 by Jen Karson

It may seem as though the amount of traveling the Pepperdine Women’s basketball team has done over the past two weeks has dawned on their energy and ability to be successful. Most recently, the Waves fell to Arkansas as their struggle to score was evident in the 64-39 score line. No wave was able to reach double digit scoring as senior leader, Shay Cooney-Williams, an Arkansas native, lead the team with eight points and four rebounds. The downfall to the Waves’ effort was their 23 turnovers, in which as a result, the Razorbacks were able to capitalize 20 points.

The Waves have now dropped to 2-5 on the season as they take a long break for finals before opening a four-game home stand. Tip off begins at 7:00pm as Pepperdine hosts Seattle U. Friday, December 14.
