The Women’s Film Society of Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television (SFTV) is bringing a talented group of women filmmakers to LMU’s campus on Saturday, March 10. The event is scheduled to begin at noon and end at 5:30 p.m.
This event is the fourth of it’s kind and will feature over 15 professionals in the industry from four majors areas: feature filmmakers, sound and picture editors, web series creators and television writers/producers.
Panelists this year include:
• Screenwriter and novelist Karen McCullah, whose credits include 10 Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde, and She’s the Man.
•Academy Award-winner Lora Hirschberg, who won her sound mixing Oscar for Inception, following a nomination for another Christopher Nolan-directed film, The Dark Knight
•Frequent J.J. Abrams collaborators Monica Breen and Alison Schapker, who have produced TV shows such as Lost, Fringe, Alias, Charmed and Brothers and Sisters.
•Academy Award-nominee Robin Swicord, who earned her Oscar nod for her adapted screenplay of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. She also wrote Memoirs of a Geisha, Little Women, Matilda, and Practical Magic.
•Gail Lerner, who is currently Executive Producer of the new ABC show Happy Endings. An Emmy nominee, her other TV credits include Ugly Betty and Will & Grace.
Tickets are $10 and include admittance to the entire event, sandwiches and appetizers, and a raffle ticket for each panel attended. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event.
