The men’s basketball team faced their opponent from Gonzaga in an action-packed game in Firestone Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Waves, led by senior center Corbin Moore, lost to the Bulldogs with a final score of 72-60 in one of the biggest games of the season.

During the first half, the Waves were strong on defense but could not resist to vicious attacks by the Bulldogs and trailed 35-21 at the half.

The Waves were more successful in the second half with Moore adding 13 points from inside the paint. Despite the fact that Bulldogs were still dictating the lead of the game, Pepperdine managed to finish only eight points behind.

Junior guard Joshua Lowery and freshman forward Jordan Baker distinguished their performance by scoring 11 and nine points respectively, in addition to multiple assists.  Robert Sacre and Kevin Pangos scored 15 points each for the Bulldogs.

Next on Pepperdine’s schedule is San Diego on Thursday, Feb. 9 at Firestone Fieldhouse.
