Good news to all the lazy Waves fans out there.
If you can’t get off your backside and make it to Firestone Fieldhouse on game night, chances are you’ll be able to catch the contest in the comfort of your own home from your TV set.
Pepperdine will be featured on television 14 times this year, including three nationally televised match-ups.
Sunday, Dec. 4, the Waves face possibly their toughest competition of the season as they do battle with the Maryland Terrapins on the Fox Sports Network.
The two other games, a road contest with Utah and a home game against WCC super-rival Gonzaga, will be televised by ESPN and ESPN 2, respectively.
According to the Waves website, the Waves are on the Fox Sports Network a total of four times as part of their WCC package and have an additional seven games on Fox Sports West of Fox Sports West 2.
Athletic Director Dr. John Watson said the Waves’ competitive regular season schedule will benefit both fans and the team.
“We have taken an aggressive, proactive approach toward the scheduling process, and I believe there have been many positive benefits for our program,” Dr. Watson said. “Pepperdine earned an at-large berth to the NCAA tournament in both 2000 and 2002 because we played an beat high-profile programs. The exposure generated by playing a quality schedule has tremendous advantages to our program.”
The Waves’ season opener against Dayton, Friday, Nov. 21, will air on Fox Sports West 2 at 8 p.m.
It will be the first of eight home games on TV.
