Lee drops 37 in Waves win

Junior guard Shandrika Lee led the Pepperdine women’s basketball team to a 102-68 victory over The Masters College in an exhibition game last Saturday afternoon in Firestone Fieldhouse.

Lee scored a game high 37 points in the contest. Lee was one of five Waves to put up double figures in the contest, including sophomore guard Shanell Law and senior guard Damaris Hinojosa with 16 each, senior forward Anna Lembke with 12 and senior guard Tamara McDonald with 10.

The women’s basketball team will host Love and Basketball for its second exhibition game this Saturday in Firestone Fieldhouse. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Waves first regular season game will be against Xavier Friday Nov. 22.

The Pepperdine men’s basketball team will have an opportunity to prove its metal to larger regional and national crowds with a minimum of 11 television appearances this season.

Waves success leads to TV time

The Waves will be shown by Fox Sports West and Fox Sports West 2 on 10 occasions this season. Seven of these televised games will take place in Firestone Fieldhouse.

On Feb. 5 the Waves will receive national exposure as they host Gonzaga on ESPN as a part of “Rivalry Week.”
