Matt Kalish named new coordinator
Alumnus Matt Kalish was named Pepperdine’s new Intramurals coordinator last week. He replaces Curtis Eberts who resigned over the summer.
Kalish has been acting as temporary coordinator since Eberts left for the Air Force prior to the beginning of the school year. Kalish was officially given the position by Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Mark Davis last Wednesday.
Kalish is already knee-deep in responsibility, assisting in the establishment of Pepperdine’s new Sports Club Council. He has communicated with sports clubs all over campus on forming this council and allocating funds.
Koksova advances in tennis tourney
Pepperdine tennis player Veronica Koksova suffered a first round loss to Tiffany Brymer of University of Southern California before winning her next four consecutive matches of the Omni Hotels West Region Championships
Sophomore Koksova advanced to the consolation singles before she lost an 8-3 decision to Tracie Chong of University of Nevada Las Vegas at the tournament in San Diego.
Koksova and Charlotte Vernaz moved to quarterfinals before losing a 9-8 decision to USC in doubles play.
