Adrian Ortiz: “Eso Eh” by Alexis Eyfido
“I chose my song because when I went to Puerto Rico this past Christmas, that was a new hot song and my dad and my friend’s dad were singing it together. It was the funniest thing ever, and I want them to hear it when they come to visit me and watch me play.”
Michael Beattie: “Top Gun Theme”
“I chose the Top Gun theme for all those girls out there that have lost that loving feeling.”
Danny Worth: “Deliverance” by Bubba Sparxx
“I chose ‘Deliverance’ because I like the song and I think the intro is awesome. I know a lot of people like it, but there are also some that can’t stand it. But it’s just a walk-up song, nothing more. I can’t see myself ever having another one other than ‘Deliverance’ at Pepperdine.”
Chad Tracy: “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi
“I chose ‘It’s My Life’ my freshman year and have stuck with it ever since. I just liked the way it sounded because baseball pretty much is ‘my life,’ so I thought it was appropriate.”
Don Brown: “Come Clarity” by In Flames
“I chose ‘Come Clarity’ because it was one of those songs that I loved the first time I heard it. It also is a song that I don’t get sick of no matter how many times I play it, which is a major factor because of how many times it gets played throughout the long season.”
Luke Salas: “Ants Marching” by Dave Matthews Band
“I chose ‘Ants Marching’ because it is my favorite Dave Matthews Band song, and I love Dave Matthews Band. Plus, it was my song freshman year so I thought that I might as well stick with it for my whole career.”
Chase D’Arnaud: “Crash” by Gwen Stefani
“Honestly, I hate my song. I chose it at first because I thought it would be funny, but now it just upsets me before I hit. I really want to change it before our next home series to a song that will actually pump me up and mentally help me prepare for the at-bat. I would really appreciate any feedback.”
Nick Kliebert: “Smooth Criminal” by Alien Ant Farm
“Well there really isn’t any fascinating reason behind my choice. I typically like there to be only instrumentals and I try to avoid lyrics. The excerpt from Alien Ant Farm’s ‘Smooth Criminal’ that I chose is an instrumental solo that I really liked. I like it because it pumps me up and because I’m a closet Michael Jackson fan.”
Justin Tellam: “Gangsta’s Paradise” by Coolio
“I changed my walk-out song to Coolio’s ‘Gangster’s Paradise’ because I like the beat and rhythm of the song. When I hit I try and keep the beat and rhythm in my head so I don’t start thinking about what the pitcher is going to throw.”
Jason Dominguez: “See No Other Way” by Slightly Stoopid
“Slightly Stoopid is one of my favorite bands and not too many people know about them, so I thought that it might get their name out there a little more. And so far it has because a lot of guys on the team ask about it.”
