Voters forum

Election Day is rapidly approaching—do you know how you will vote?  There are several ways in which voters are getting ready.

The League of Women Voters helps people understand what they will be voting on so that they can vote thoughtfully.  The League holds several forums all over the country to keep voters educated.   A forum such as this was held Oct. 17 at Calabasas library.  The forum was led by Ellen Pangarliotas of the League of Women Voters.  Pangarliotas discussed each of the propositions that will appear on the upcoming ballot.

The League does not wish to persuade voters to vote in a particular way, rather, wants to educate people so that they can make their own knowledgeable choices.  Pangarliotas said that she considers voting very important because it is a way to make one’s voice heard in important governmental decisions.

Even if you cannot make it to a meeting, you can take steps toward becoming a smart voter.  Study up on the ballot issues on your own.  Check online at www.smartvoter.org for more information.
