Pepperdine’s No. 18 Women’s Volleyball team has once again made an outstanding performance by dominating Missouri State (3-0) at the first round of NCAA Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 1. The Waves, led by junior Victoria Adehelm and senior Lilla Frederick successfully qualified for the second round in Firestone Fieldhouse on Friday.

Pepperdine started the first set by outscoring Missouri State with consecutive successful attacks, winning the first set with score 22-25. In the second set, the Waves managed to steal four points from the Missouri Bears at the last minutes of the intense game (21-25).

The third set was even less fortunate for the Missouri State, as the Waves crushed the opponent’s defense with especially impressive kills by Frederick and Adelhelm (16-25).

Pepperdine continued the action at Firestone Fieldhouse against North Carolina this Friday night.

“I am very excited about moving to the second round,” Freshman Katie Messing said, “North Carolina is a very solid team, but we have nothing to be scared about. ”
