TangoKilo

February 19, 2009 by Pepperdine Graphic

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree for Pepperdine professor Dr. Mike Jordan’s son Randy. You might not have guessed it but in his youth Dr. Jordan was a very talented drum player. And several decades later his son Randy became the lead drummer of the up-and-coming band TangoKilo.

TangoKilo performed last Friday at Blue Club in Agoura Hills to a crowd of Pepperdine students and faculty and local fans. Most of his students know Dr. Jordan has an obsession with the Beatles that has transpired into an entire room dedicated to a “Beatle Shrine.”

His love for music and talent for drums helped to foster Randy’s passion for music and Dr. Jordan currently serves as the band’s manager. The band describes itself as classic rock with a retro/alternative feel. They are currently planning their next tour and will be playing at the Blue Club again on March 6th.
