SAT requirements create an unfair advantage for students who come from wealthier families that are able to pay for private tutoring. Studies, such as one through Princeton University, have shown that dropping the requirement improves both GPA and diversity of admits.

Seaver Admissions Goes Test-Optional Through 2023
Pepperdine, alongside many other colleges nationwide, decided to not require standardized test scores on the admission application this year. This decision not only led to higher application rates for the upcoming academic year but also more anxiety for applicants wondering if they will get accepted.
