Award-winning journalist Gustavo Arellano spoke to students Sept. 30, to honor and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in collaboration with ICA. Arellano explored the meaning of being Latino in Southern California and the importance of cultural identity in journalism.
The Melanated Muckraker — hosted by Anitiz Muonagolu and Emily Shaw —explores the complexities of race and cultures and the impact these have on our lives by sharing the stories and experiences of BIPOC.
The Latino/a/x Student Association is a group where students can connect with their culture, heritage and values. The LSA is holding an essay contest for members of the Pepperdine Latinx community to share their heritage through the reflection of cultural identity in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
