With the challenges COVID-19 poses on student life this year, quarantine and isolation are difficult to navigate as well, said Maura Page, director of Residence Life. Students have voiced confusion and concerns over the facilities and communication with the University during these times, saying adapting is hard on everyone.
After returning to campus for the first time, students must keep well-being in mind while balancing accountability. For new-to-campus students, keeping on top of COVID-19 guidelines may get overwhelming.
In an Aug. 11 email to Pepperdine community members, the University mandated weekly COVID-19 testing to those authorized to be on campus. Students, faculty and staff on the Malibu campus can expect to spit weekly to ensure campus safety.
In light of Pepperdine’s obedience to both county and federal guidelines pertaining to COVID-19, some community members remain upset at such policies. It’s time to stop complaining and start embracing such protocols.
