Surf report

October 6, 2005 by Pepperdine Graphic

GARRETT WAIT
Sports Editor

This week, forecast models are calling for pretty good swells overall, with an increase in swell energy for the weekend.

Today’s predicted swell should be waist-high on south beaches as a moderate south-southwest swell pushes ashore.

Tomorrow will see a sizeable swell that should bring chest-high waves and fair conditions.

Saturday looks to be the best surf day of the week, as the the energy from the system peaks with head-high waves that could possibly get to two-feet overhead.

Sunday will most likely be chest-high with decreasing energy making waves a little bit smaller than the three previous days.

Monday is looking like an average day to take out the surfboard as knee-to-waist high surf is the on the horizon.

Tuesday will look more and more like Monday’s decent surf.

Wednesday looks a lot like Tuesday, with the last of the swell making its way out late in the day.

So if you’re heading out to catch a break, get up early and go out Saturday before the beaches get crowded.
