Surf report

September 29, 2005 by Pepperdine Graphic

GARRETT WAIT
Sports Editor

This week, forecast models are calling for average swells overall, with a decrease in swell energy for the weekend.

Today’s predicted swell should be knee-to-waist-high on south beaches as a small south-southeast swell pushes ashore.

Tomorrow will see a diminished swell that should bring ankle-to-waist high waves and fair to good conditions.

Saturday looks similar to Friday, if not slightly smaller, as the last of the energy from the system makes its way out.

Sunday will most likely be waist high with increasing energy making waves a little bit larger than the three previous days.

Monday is looking like a good day to store the surfboard as knee-high is the absolute most you’ll see.

Tuesday will keep it slow, looking more and more like Monday’s average surf.

Wednesday looks a lot like Tuesday, but a swell will make its way in late in the day to make for at least a decent surf day.

So if you’re heading out to catch a break, you might want to drive a little further, maybe even down to San Diego, because the surf is poor in Malibu for most of the week.
