Sprinkler blues

There are an increasing number of dirty cars driving around campus. Many students who own cars say it’s due to the campus sprinkler system.

The sprinkler system, designed to water the plants around many parking lots, often spray parked cars, leaving grey spot marks. The spots are reportedly very difficult to remove.

“Nowhere is safe,” says sophomore, Alex Matranga. “You park your car one night, and come back in the morning to find it all messed up.”

Clay Gleb, a sophomore, recently brought his Audi on campus from his home state of Washington.

“I had to go get my car washed today,” he says. “Its ridiculous. Never park in Upsilon.”

To protect their cars, some students are purchasing covers to place over their cars. The covers are inexpensive and can be bought at almost any automotive store.

Matranga likes the cover idea although he has another strategy that seems to work for him.

“I’ll just park on the street or in the middle of Ro where there are no sprinklers,” he says.
