SGA 2009 Election Results: Greg Lee Wins

Student Government Association 2009 Run-Off Election Results

Note: Data supplied by SGA. Run-off polls closed at 8 a.m. Friday April 3.

SGA President Greg Lee – 539 votes (50.66%) WINNER Blake Franks – 525 votes (49.34%) SGA VP of Administration Kameron King – 526 votes (50.38%) WINNER Heather Bradshaw – 522 votes (49.62%)

Senior Class President Alex Pennekamp – 152 votes(52.41%) WINNER Eli Sayegh – 138 votes (47.59%)

According to the SGA Constitution a candidate must win a by a majority vote (50% + 1). In the races resulting in run-offs neither candidate was able to attain a majority vote due to numerous candidates on the ballot or irregular number of write-in vote for this election period. SGA President (Run-off)Blake Franks: 438 votes (34.8% of the vote)Joe Grable: 73 votes (5.8% of the vote)Greg Lee: 552 votes (43.8% of the vote)Manu Ishino: 78 votes (6.2% of the vote)Total Write-In: 118 votes (9.4% of the vote)Write-In Candidate Kyle Helf: 94 votes (7.5% of the vote) SGA Executive Vice PresidentAdrianne Fore: 1095 votes (92.7% of the vote) WINNERWrite-In: 86 votes (7.3% of the vote)

Vice President of Administration (Run-Off)Heather Bradshaw: 581 votes (48.4% of the vote) Kamron King: 599 votes (49.9% of the vote) Write-In: 21 votes (1.7% of the vote)

Notable Changes to the New SGA Constitution Include according to SGA:-Abolition of the Election Rules Committee combines their duties with those of the General Judicial Chair -Easier funding methods -Fully removes the remnants of housing senators and old officer titles -Reinforces many rules for the operation of the Senate (probation during elections prohibited absences from Senate clarified)
