Pet Adoptions

March 24, 2009 by Pepperdine Graphic

You may have heard the term “foreclosure pet”- pets abandoned at animal shelters because their owners have lost their homes. With the current downturn in the economy people are feeling the tightening of the purse strings.

Some shelters and rescue organizations are filling up fast because families can no longer afford to care for their pets. Vets are seeing more patients that can’t pay for proper medical care especially in emergency or high cost situations.

But through the efforts of many adoption organizations more animals found their way into new homes in 2008 than the previous year.

Each Saturday A local organization called the Brittany Foundation comes out to Pacific Coast Pets for dog adoptions. For more information go to www.brittanyfoundation.com or stop by Pacific Coast Pets.
