No. 4 men's water polo team falls to No. 8 Cal

November 3, 2012 by Narine Adamova

The Pepperdine men’s water polo team, currently ranked No.4 in the nation, suffered a loss to No. 8 Cal in an action-packed game on Friday, Nov. 2 at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool.

Sophomore Hungary-native Marco Madaras scored twice in the second quarter and junior goalkeeper Valics Bence finished the game with thirteen saves overall, but it wasn’t enough to get the Waves a win.

Co-Head Coach Willo Rodriguez commented on the game: “We played very well and we will definitely focus on the serious opponents that we are playing this weekend.”

The Waves face Long Beach on Nov. 8 and USC on Nov. 11.
