VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR HUNGER CLEANUP
Pepperdine students can participate in the national fight against hunger and homelessness by participating in the 18th Annual Hunger Cleanup on April 6.
The event, sponsored by the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness, gives students the opportunity to help Studio 8’s “A Light in the Dark.” Light in the Dark is a local non-profit organization dedicated to serving Malibu’s homeless community by raising donations, volunteering in a service event and hearing testimonies from members of the homeless community.
The cleanup will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on April 6 and is a national work-a-thon event. Donations are always welcome and volunteers are needed. Please contact Lindsey Lockman, Special Projects coordinator for the Pepperdine Volunteer Center at lindsey.lockman@pepperdine.edu, or call ext. 4143 for more information.
Students interested in tutoring homeless youth can earn class credits through the School on Wheels program. Call Brenen Jones in the PVC, ext. 4143, for information.
