Mozilo and Countrywide

The head of the United States largest mortgage lending company is staying put. Angelo R. Mozilo made the announcement on Tuesday.

69-year-old Mozilo was considering stepping down from his role as C-E-O at Country-wide Financial.

President of the Calabasas Chamber, Carol Washburn says the Calabasas community is fortunate to have Mozilo and Countrywide. Mozilo was honored by the chamber as an outstanding business professional, as the Chamber and the community feel fortunate to have such an outstanding leader in their community. Mozilo is determined to stay hands on in the company, while building a team that remains determined to increase home loans to minorities.

Country-wide, Co-founded by Mozilo in 1969 has been located in Calabasas since 2000.
