Nelly concert ends in injury and death

Two fans were stabbed last Friday at a Nelly concert at the Coors Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, Calif.

Text Box: Faitamai Taunuu, 30, and Sean Bower, 27, were rushed to a local hospital. Bowers survived, however, Taunuu died from multiple stab wounds late Saturday night.

Police arrested Hank Carl Banegas, 26, Steven Francis Tesam, 46, and an unidentified 16-year-old boy who was with the two men. Banegas and Tesam are being held on charges of murder and attempted murder. The 16-year-old boy is being held on charges of conspiracy.

Roseanne and ABC create reality series

Roseanne is planning to produce and star in another ABC sitcom.

Unlike the domestic reality sitcom “The Osbournes,” Roseanne’s series will be “the first reality comedy set in a workplace,” executive producer R.J. Cutler said.

Specific facts about the series have not been disclosed, however, rumors are that the setting of the series will be a cooking or a talk show.

“Without giving away too much, there are many layers to the concept of this show,” Cutler said. “Roseanne has a strong vision of what the show will be, but we’re still working out the details.”

Wanted: Writer for Godfather’ sequel

Due to the death of author Mario Puzo in 1999, Random House needs another writer to complete a new sequel to the “Godfather.”

Puzo’s former editor Jonathan Karp is looking for “someone who is in roughly the same place in life Mario Puzo was when he wrote ‘The Godfather’ – at mid-career with two acclaimed literary novels to his credit, who writes in a commanding and darkly comic omniscient voice.”

Some believe that the Corleone saga needs to rest along side of Puzo. Karp disagrees.

“There is enormous continuing interest in the Corleone family and a great opportunity to tell a story that could take place before, during or after the original book,” he said.

Whoever decides to take on this task will have big shoes to fill. One woman compared the task to trying to rewrite Gone with the Wind.

Kid Rock aide busted for drugs

Last Saturday after a concert at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Fla. police, tipped off by a local motorist, pulled over Kid Rock’s tour bus, finding marijuana and cocaine.

The rapper was not on the bus, but his personal assistant, Kevin Joseph McMahon, was taken into custody on possession charges. McMahon admitted that the drugs were his, and that he used marijuana daily and cocaine occasionally, police said.

He was held at the St. Lucie County jail and released the next day. He is being charged with both felony and misdemeanor counts of drug possession.

Cobain journals reveal his hardship

Late rockstar Kurt Cobain’s personal diaries titled “Journals” will be published next month for all to read.

The writings include his years rising to fame, his stardom and the moments before his suicide. Topics such as lyrics, drugs, guilt, self-hate and love for his wife Courtney Love fill these pages.

Being released with “Journals” is a previously unreleased song “You Know You’re Right” and a greatest-hits CD.
