The Las Virgenes Unified School District has continued to surpass state Academic Performance standards this year.

The Academic Performance Index is determined by how well students master the states academic content standards with standardized testing. The system was established by the California Public Schools Accountability Act of 1999. The API is a scale that measures students performance from a low of 200 to a high of 1000. Students who score an advanced on the tests receive a score of 1000 and students who receive a proficient receive a score of 875.

Calabasas’ A. E. Wright Middle School’s scores rose by 32 points this year with a total score of 876.

Six of the eight elementary schools scored in the 900 ranges. The district’s highest scoring elementary school was White Oak Elementary in Westlake Village with a score of 942. Calabasas High School has the highest score of the district’s two high schools with a score of 821.

All LVUSD schools scored above 800, the state’s target.
