Las Virgenes School Budget Cut

February 5, 2009 by Pepperdine Graphic

Las Virgenes School District just announced their new budget cut for the upcoming school year…..

It’s 7 and – a – half million dollars.

That is over double the cost the district has cut in the past.

Librarian Jane Lofton says she is worried about the stability of her job one that she believes is necessasry for kids to develp necessary skills in a media heavy environment.

There is a bright side to the cut however President Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will fund the school with over a million dollars which may save some favored extra- curriculars.

The school board must wait until their next meeting to deliberate the budget division for the upcoming year.
