Nature’s Edge truly is a gem on Pepperdine’s campus. The little shop has an amazing array of nutritious and delicious snacks that are lifesavers when you need a quick bite to eat as you’re running to class.

However, despite the many positive aspects of Nature’s Edge, you may want to think twice before swiping away your Caf points.

In many cases, shopping at Nature’s Edge is more than twice as expensive as going to Ralphs.

Here’s a list of some price comparisons so that you can be a smart spender and think about making the best shopping choices!

Chobani Flip Greek Yogurt

Nature’s Edge – $3.69 / Ralphs – $1.49

Simply Lemonade
Nature’s Edge – $2.99 (11.5 fl oz ) / Ralphs – $2.49 (1.75 liters)

Smart Water, 1 liter
Nature’s Edge – $3.19 / Ralphs – $1.29

Vitamin Water, 20 fl oz
Nature’s Edge – $2.89 / Ralphs – $0.88

Powerade, 20 fl oz
Nature’s Edge – $2.49 / Ralphs – $0.77

Peanut Butter,16 oz
Nature’s Edge – $6.99 / Ralphs – range from $1.49 to $3.99

Cliff Bar
Nature’s Edge – $2.49 / Ralphs – $1.49

Kind Bar
Nature’s Edge – $1.69 / Ralphs – $1.49

Lundberg Rice Cakes
Nature’s Edge – $6.49 / Ralphs – $3.79

Apple
Nature’s Edge – $1.29 per fruit / Ralphs – $2.99 per pound

Orange
Nature’s Edge – $0.69 per fruit / Ralphs – $0.99 per pound

As you can see, it may be time to think twice before stopping at Nature’s Edge for most items. However, the much higher convenience of Nature’s Edge is something to take into consideration. Also, some students find that they already have paid for more Caf points than they need and so subbing Nature’s Edge for Ralphs when grocery shopping can be a very smart shopping choice.

Shoppers should also be aware that products from Nature’s Edge are more expensive if not paid for with Caf points. Smaller items, such as candy, are typically $0.25 more than the standard price. Bigger items, such as peanut butter, range from being $0.50 to $1 more expensive.

Hopefully these price comparisons can help you make the best choice for you.

Happy snacking!
