Dear students,
Pepperdine’s Public Safety Department and members of the Emergency
Operations Center (EOC) are closely monitoring southern California
fires and will continue to do so. Thankfully, there is no immediate
threat to Pepperdine’s Malibu Campus. Additional updates will be
provided as appropriate via email, Pepperdine’s home page, and the
Emergency Recorded Message line, (888) 286-5659.
As many of you know, some of our commuter students in the vicinity of
the fires were required to evacuate in the middle of the night. At
this point, we do not know if they will all be able to return to their
homes this evening. I want to thank all of you who have hosted these
students and offered them a place to stay tonight. If any of our
evacuated students need a place to stay, please contact the Housing
Office at 506-7586. We are happy to make temporary housing
arrangements for anyone that needs it.
It’s great to see the community reaching out in times of need. We are
blessed to be surrounded by so many compassionate people.
Sincerely,
Mark Davis
