Do you ever wonder what there is to do in Los Angeles that won’t leave your pocketbook permanently scarred? Wonder no more. The Graphic has the answer for you.

Each week the Arts & Entertainment section provides features of a different location or activity to provide hours of entertainment without forcing you into debt.

This Friday, jazz vocalist Jane Monheit will perform in Smothers Theatre at 8 pm.

Monheit, 24, said shehas been singing since before she could talk. Her main influence is Ella Fitzgerald.

Monheit’s third album, “In the Sun,” was released Sept. 17. Her sophomore album, “Come Dream with Me” debuted on the Billboard Jazz chart at No. 1.
