From the Cheap Seats

February 14, 2002 by Pepperdine Graphic

Do you ever wonder what there is to do in Los Angeles that won’t leave your pocketbook permanently scarred? Wonder no more; the Graphic has the answer for you.

Each week the Arts & Entertainment section provides features of a different location or activity to provide hours of entertainment without forcing you into debt.

A desired destination for travelers around the world, the Venice Beach boardwalk is unlike any place on Earth. Well known for its artists, street performers and funky atmosphere, Venice Beach is a virtual carnival running year round with free admission.

From a larger-than-life painting of Doors’ lead singer Jim Morrison to a mural of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night,” Venice offers visual treats for everyone.

Directions:

Take PCH to the California Incline. Turn right on Ocean Boulevard, stay straight onto Nielson Way, which becomes Pacific Avenue. Turn right on Washington Boulevard.
