August 24, 2011 by Edgar Hernandez

A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in Malibu Creek State Park. A mountain rescue team that was on surveillance duty notified the fire department. The Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Sheriff’s Department promptly responded to the call and entered the scene around 4:30 p.m. The fire spread across an acre and a half. As of 6:10 p.m. Las Virgenes Road is still closed from Lost Hills Road to Mulholland Drive.
