Families from all over came to enjoy the Fall Family Faire on October 24th. The City of Calabasas and the Chamber of Commerce brought families together with a number of activities that got people excited about Halloween. The event was held at Juan Bautista de Anza Park and featured ring tossing, bowling, pumpkin painting, and a climbing wall.
Many said that the best part was the master pumpkin carver. He transformed pumpkins into bats, witches, and clowns.
Fall Family Faire volunteer Patty Corrales said, “He’s done some awesome work today. I’m very fond of this clown out in front, very good job.”
Besides being entertaining for all involved, organizers said that the faire was a great opportunity for families to spend quality time with one another.
Event coordinator Susan Orgen says, “ It’s an absolutely wonderful experience. Everybody came out with their families, kids, grandkids, neighbors, enjoyed the music, enjoyed the food, and a great park the city has.”
Over 3,500 people came to enjoy the event that was made possible by the 100 volunteers from the City, Chamber, and local high schools. The event was so successful that organizers hope to expand it to two days next year.
