The Château d’Hauteville, Pepperdine’s new international campus in Switzerland, hosted an exclusive invite-only event for Audemars Piguet and Porsche on Friday, June 7.
The château’s faculty and staff are only prioritizing events that are considered convening conversations of confidence that could lead to opportunities for students or serve as educational value, Marc Goodman, vice chancellor of the Château d’Hauteville, said.
“It was a very special collaboration between Audemars Piguet and Porsche,” Goodman said.
Any event held at the château require adding potential educational value to the students, Goodman said. Goodman is optimistic that growing these relationships could lead to opportunities for students in the future.
“Events held outside of a more traditional educational scope have to be of sufficient quality to reflect the quality of the château,” Goodman said.
The château is sought out for its hidden, serene location, making it the perfect location for Audemars Piguet and Porsche’s collaborated private event, Goodman said.
Audemars Piguet and Porsche did not advertise the event and it required a personal invite, Lorianne Forest, director of operations at the Château d’Hauteville, said.
This isn’t the first time Audemars Pigue and Porsche have collaborated, Forest said. The purpose was to showcase specific products to clients in a curated environment while providing networking opportunities.
Guests browsed electric cars as well as some classics such as the Porsche 911, Forest said. The companies invited guests to test drive the cars through the countryside and surrounding areas of the château for 15 minutes.
The château is open to hosting events only with organizations that take a serious interest in Pepperdine University as a whole and express interest in engaging with students through a potential partnership, Goodman said.
“It must be exceptional, very quite niche,” Goodman said.
If that interest isn’t there, Goodman said, “Thank you, but no thank you.”
