Administration held a town hall meeting for students, faculty or staff who wished to hear more details about the upcoming construction plans at 11 a.m. this Wednesday in Elkins.
Vice President of Administration Phil Phillips sent out an email to the Pepperdine community that addressed the concerns people may have and plans for the campus construction that will take place in Payson Library and the School of Law.
“We know we can’t think of everything, so we want to hear from the community,” Phillips wrote in an email. “Our students, faculty and staff are the greatest when it comes to dealing with construction; they are supportive and understanding, but they also have creative ideas.”
According to the email, the construction team will begin renovating in the summer of 2016, and these projects will likely affect parking arrangements for the Upsilon parking lot, the Firestone Fieldhouse parking lot, the stockpile pad on the Drescher Graduate Campus and the debris basin below the Terrace Parking Lot.
Another source for those affected by these changes is a community webpage which was also sent out in Phillips’ email. At this link http://community.pepperdine.edu/constructionupdates/, one can find additional information about the construction plans and how the campus will be affected by these construction plans.
In the next few weeks, the Pepperdine community will have access to project descriptions, timelines, parking lot closures, a construction Twitter account and more by visiting the webpage.
The Design and Construction team is available at 310-506-4581 to answer any questions people have throughout the construction process.
