The Pepperdine community will have the chance to participate in Sonki Fitness Boot Camp beginning March 25 until April 24.

This one hour total body workout will be held out on Alumni Park every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The class is open to all ages; however, underclassmen are not eligible for Sonki.

The fitness center offers alternative exercise classes for Seaver students. Sonki Fitness instead provides an opportunity for faculty, family members, and non-students who are interested in losing weight, trimming inches off, and improving mental health in a fun and safe environment.

They advertise themselves as having a 99 percent success rate with their goal of helping interested individuals increase upper body and core strength by 30 percent according to their website at http://www.sonkifitness.com/pepperdine/. Moreover, the hour workout is tailored to help persons burn around 600-800 calories.

If “fitness as a way of life, not just a workout” or “programs [that] will teach you about self-discipline, fitness, and positive attitude so that you can learn to stay in shape for the rest of your life,” as their site says, interests individuals, then signing up is an option worth looking into.

The cost of the program is $150, and registration can be done through their webpage.
