10/21/13 1:02 p.m.

Incidents – Welfare Check

Location: Off-Campus

Summary: A concerned parent reported that they were unable to reach their daughter for an extended period of time and requested a welfare check. The daughter is no longer enrolled at the university, and a message was left on her listed telephone number requesting that she contact the concerned parent as soon as possible. The Dean of Students’ office was also notified.

 

10/30/13 11:57 p.m.

Crimes – Larceny/Theft – Petty Theft

Location: Tyler Campus Center

Summary: A student reported that her phone was stolen from her purse. The phone was later found in an outside trash can nearby.

 

1/12/14 12:11 p.m.

Incidents – Suspicious Circumstances

Location: School of Law

Summary: A staff member reported receiving inappropriate emails with pornographic photos from an individual with no apparent affiliation to the university.

 

1/18/14 11:03 a.m.

Service Calls – Animal Call – Dog

Location: Main Lot

Summary: A university staff member observed an unattended dog in a vehicle. A Public Safety officer responded and was able to make contact with the vehicle’s owner with no further incident.

 

1/23/14 12:52 a.m.

Incidents – Suspicious Person

Location: Firestone Fieldhouse

Summary: A staff member reported a person who appeared to be upset. Public Safety officers determined that the person, a visitor, had a verbal argument with her spouse and was left stranded without a ride. The Public Safety officer arranged for a cab to transport the woman back to their off-campus residence.

 

1/29/14 9:31 p.m.

Service Calls – Animal Call – Dog

Location: Raleigh Runnels Pool

Summary: There was a report of a dog attacking a deer. Public Safety officers and animal control responded. The dog and owner had left the area prior to officers arriving on scene.

 

1/30/14 11:15 a.m.

Incidents – Suspicious Circumstances

Location: Drescher Student Housing Apartments

Summary: A student reported that an unknown individual, portraying themself as a talent scout, convinced a student to model on Skype.

 

2/1/14 2:04 a.m.

Incidents – Welfare Check

Location: Hall 12 – Walter Knott House

Summary: A private limo driver for hire reported that a student under the influence of alcohol abruptly entered another vehicle after they failed to pay for the ride. The driver was not concerned about the payment, but did express a concern about the welfare of the student. Public Safety officers made contact with the student and verified he/she was OK.

 

2/11/14 9:37 a.m.

Crimes – Larceny/Theft – Petty Theft – Misc.

Location: George Page Residential Complex

Summary: A student reported that three textbooks were missing from her or her George Page apartment. A store employee reported a student sold the stolen books back to the bookstore.

 

2/20/14 1:05 a.m.

Service Calls – Animal Call – Mountain Lion

Location: Health Center

Summary: Two students reported observing a mountain lion behind the Student Health Center. Officers were unable to locate any evidence of a mountain lion, but did encounter a coyote in the area.

 

3/23/14 4:24 p.m.

Drugs & Alcohol Related Incidents – Possession of Alcohol

Location: John Tyler Drive Booth

Summary: Public Safety officers reported a visitor attending an on-campus wedding was in possession of alcohol. The container was confiscated and disposed of at the scene.

 

3/26/14 12:13 a.m.

Incidents – Disturbance – Loud Noise

Location: Ralphs/Strauss Tennis Pavilion

Summary: Public Safety officers discovered nine students in possession of 38 containers of alcoholic beverages in a locker room.
