Midway through September, the weather is still warm and the beach is still the place to be. Now, there’s a quick way to get there for those Pepperdine students without the luxury of their own vehicles.

Saturday, the Weekend Beach Bus will begin serving Pepperdine students’ Saturday beach needs.

The shuttle will transport students from Jerry’s Tree in the Main Parking Lot to Westward Beach. Turn around time is expected to be approximately 30 minutes. The trial period will consist of three dates: Sept. 25, Oct. 2 and Oct. 9. SGA has received encouragement from students looking forward to the new service, which was brainstormed over the summer and put in to action by the SGA E-board.

“It’s great that there is a way of getting to the beach where you don’t have to worry about parking, gas and you have enough room for all of your friends,” freshman John Stevenson told SGA. The decision to keep the shuttle through next spring will be decided based on how well it is received by the student population, SGA members said.
