It is now illegal to feed the homeless in Santa Monica. This may sound a bit like a warning sign at the Grand Canyon to prevent people from feeding the squirrels, but as of Oct. 23, the Santa Monica City Council requires a group serving 150 or more people to obtain a city permit and meet county health standards.
