The coaching search for the men’s basketball team was over a week ago, but now it’s officially concluded. Former coach Tom Asbury is returning to Pepperdine to replace Vance Walberg and interim coach Eric Bridgeland.

Asbury coached the Waves from 1988-94, compiling a 125-59 record along with three West coast conference titles and three WCC Tournament crowns.

According to a report on FoxSports.com, Asbury will be announced as the new coach Monday before the Waves game against No.-21 Saint Mary’s. It is unclear when he will actually take over for Bridgeland. The Graphic will keep you updated on the new coaching change and the Homecoming Weekend basketball games against Santa Clara and Saint Mary’s.
