And the winner is…Calabasas High School

November 2, 2006 by Pepperdine Graphic

Winning national awards for excellence is not unusual at Calabasas High School, as they have won numerous awards throughout the years, but this most recent award is giving the school and community something to talk about.

The high school is the new winner of the national Blue Ribbon award, which is awarded to three percent of schools throughout the nation.

This award is especially important to the students at Calabasas High School as this separates them for the rest, according to Principal David Jackson. He said this will now show how special CHS is and is especially important when students apply to college.

The Blue Ribbon award is based upon academics and testing and by winning such an award CHS is placed at the top of these categories throughout the nation.

“The teachers, students, and community are all a part of this award” said Jackson.

Jackson and John Reich, a teacher at Calabasas, will travel to Washington D.C. to receive the awards in November.
