Cruise and Holmes ending their marriage:
Say goodbye to Tom-Kat!
After 5 years of marriage and seven years total, Tom Cruise, 49, and Katie Holmes, 33,
have untied the knot and called it quits.
It was announced today, June 29th, 2012 that Holmes filed for divorce in New York.
This is Tom Cruise’s third divorce and the first for Katie. Holmes’ attorney told People
magazine, “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie’s
primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”
TMZ reports that Holmes cited the typical, “irreconcilable differences.” No other
reason has been released yet for the split but the couple has not been seen together since
February of this year.
Tom Cruise just came out with his movie, Rock of Ages, and is in the process of shooting
another film, Oblivion. Katie has two new films coming out within the next two years.
Who gets what:
Who will get custody of their six-year-old daughter, Suri? Holmes is asking for sole legal
and primary residential custody of their child.
How will the couple’s assets be divided? It is rumored that TomKat have a prenuptial
agreement worth at least $275 million but Holmes made no mention of it in the divorce
filings.
Yet another fairytale ends in Hollywood. With much success and much break-ups, can
anyone in Tinsel Town truly have it all?
Adele is pregnant:
First comes the Grammy, then comes BABY! Singer of the year, Adele, 24 has just announced today that she is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend and entrepreneur, Simon Konecki, 36, whom she met last summer in the UK. This will be Simon’s second child, since he has a five-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.
The multi-award winning singer announced on her website:
“I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”
This is shocking news considering that Adele denied rumors of engagement just last month and also said that she wanted to wait until she was 30 to have kids. Despite this, the singer is overjoyed.
Time to make some room on that shelf full of countless awards for diapers and pacifiers!
