The Malibu and Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station hosts an annual open house this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. New this year is a Disaster Preparedness Fair. The event will feature displays and demonstrations, such as the Sheriff’s Department Helicopter, Bomb Squad, Search and Rescue Team, L.A. County Fire, and fun activities for the kids.
At 11:00 a.m. a special display and “Ribbon Cutting” for the new Malibu and Lost Hills Station’s Command Post trailer is scheduled. The Command Post trailer was funded and obtained entirely through donations and has been outfitted entirely by the efforts of the volunteer Malibu Search and Rescue Team. Members of the Search and Rescue Team will be on hand to demonstrate various components of the state of the art Command Post.
The Cities of Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu, Topanga Coalition of Emergency Preparedness, Water District and the Gas Company have been invited to participate. They will have booths at the event and will display their disaster preparedness plans.
