PCH signs

September 14, 2005 by Pepperdine Graphic

Earlier this summer, Malibu successfully tested its first solar powered
speeding sign near Big Rock Drive. The speeding signs flash the speed
of the vehicle as it approaches. The speed of the vehicle will flash in
red if the vehicle is speeding and yellow if it is not. Malibu City
Council has applied to use special funding for the project. Caltrans
voiced concern about the flashing feature but the City Council is
working to go ahead to finalizing plans to erect the signs to help
drivers be more aware of and slow down while driving on PCH.
