Gunshots end party

November 5, 2010 by Pepperdine Graphic

A party hosted by a Pepperdine student and a Pepperdine alumnus Saturday night ended with gunshots according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.

The gun was fired into the air and no serious injuries were reported. Other minor injuries to students unrelated to the firearm were reported during the course of the turbulent evening.

The Halloween party turned violent after unwanted guests arrived.

Multiple deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sherriff’s station an ambulance and a fire truck responded to numerous disturbance calls made Saturday night along the 3300 block of Pacific Coast Highway past Trancas Canyon where the party was being held.

According to the authorities  there were three parties in this block Saturday night with guests hopping from party to party.

The report continues to explain that uninvited local high school students arrived at the Pepperdine student’s house.

After feeling offended the high school students began throwing rocks at the Pepperdine students injuring several and warranting an ambulance.

The argument and violence climaxed dangerously when the younger intruders obtained firearms the officials said.

The authorities report that while shots were fired there were no reports of the weapon being fired directly at the guests.

The 19-year-old man who fired the weapon was arrested at the scene. He could be charged with a felony offense.

The confrontation took place outside the house leaving some of the guests inside the house unaware of the violence that was occurring.

The case is still under investigation and a full report has not been released to the public at this time.
